Nice work -- "entertainment is critical." Does the activity within the theater somehow contribute to the ship's propulsion?

Unfortunately no. But in theories of interstellar travel one of the common objections is that the human mind could not handle generations of isolation, so in a sense the ship cannot go forward unless the minds of its inhabitants are properly stimulated.

I love that. After 3000 years though, the drama would probably devolve into bloodsports and religious spectacle. At least that's what would happen in a science-fiction novel.
